Our quarterly exam is this Wednesday. It will cover concepts from chapters 4,5 and 6, as well as using the scientific method and metric conversions. Please ask your child to show you the study guide. Study together and sign the study guide for 5 extra points on this test grade.

Activity: (Synthesis and Decomposition chemical reactions) Burn Magnesium Ribbon (Synthesis), demonstrate physical and chemical changes with sugar by cutting and then burning it (decomposition).

Students have received their "Chemoscope" project grades. We had a lot of copying and pasting on this project, and so I would like to see our students using their own words in their projects.

Activity: Discuss chemical bonds outline. Discuss coefficient and subscript. Complete an online tutorial on chemical formulas. Tally atoms in different chemical formulas.

Activity: Quiz on separation of a mixture, Read section 6-1 and 6-2 in class.
